So the NBA season is over and the Dallas Mavericks are watching the playoffs with the rest of us. In the final few games of non-playoff implication basketball, Josh got some garbage time minutes. A total of a shad under 5 minutes. All against the New Orleans Hornets. In the first game against the Hornets Josh managed to get up three shots one from the floor and 2 from downtown. Akognon hit 1 of his 2 from downtown. So he walked away with three points in that game. In the second game against the Hornets, all he managed was a rebound in his 2 minutes on the court. While the playing time in a lost season, in a game that meant nothing, other than some beards being cut (the Mavericks vowed to not cut their beards until they hit 500), is a bit perplexing and frustrating, Josh does have a contract through next season.

As seen by the tweet above, apparently Josh Akognon is signed on all the way through next season.
Good news Josh Akognon fans. Josh is officially signed on for the rest of the season. The Dallas Mavericks must've liked what they saw and extended Josh another contract. Congrats Josh!
Now that the Mavs are out of playoff contention, maybe Josh will get some quality playing time.
Josh finally got some minutes for the Mavericks. Akognon notched about 3 minutes in the loss against Phoenix. In the time he played he tallied an assist and drained a 3 (actually a long 2, his foot was on the line). Not a bad start for Josh, 1-1 shooting and an assist to Dirk. This Friday we'll see if the Mavericks will sign Josh to another contract. Below is video of Josh's playing time:
This was Josh's 49 point game against Zhejiang. His final stat line was 49 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, and 5 steals.
